The funding will be used to run intergenerational activities including digital inclusion gardening and creative arts for older and younger people. The project aims to bring people together to share skills and experience expand support networks and promote mental wellbeing.

Covid-19 Rapid Response Fund Grant

NET, Comic Relief and Children in Need will use this funding to provide: increased support to vulnerable people and hidden groups, thus reducing the burden on public services; reach local grassroots and small organisations who can provide an on-the-ground community response to the crisis; and, support local charitable organisations to mobilise volunteers to enable better targeted support in communities through empowered local groups.

VSCE CMC Fund

Project OPAL (Older People after Lockdown) Dragon Hall will provide weekly activities to support older people regain their confidence to leave their homes safely, classes to improve their physical and mental health wellbeing and provide social and learning opportunities for people to retain their current networks and make new relationships.

SHAF grant to Covent Garden Dragon Hall Trust

The set up, management, development and ongoing administration of Covent Garden Food Bank with partner organisation Covent Garden Community Centre for the relief of food poverty & hardship due to the Covid-19 pandemic in the Holborn, Covent Garden, Soho & south Bloomsbury areas of central London

Funding to extend the working hours of the organisation's Activities Assistant to include the weekends so that the provision of food, essentials and daily phone calls is throughout the week.

£66,000 over two further and final years (2x £33,000) for a full time Community Development Worker to develop and deliver services working with older people aged 75+ and carers aged 65+.

This project will run a range of social, wellbeing and educational activities for older men, enabling people to come together and reduce feelings of isolation.

COMIC (Connecting Older men in Camden)

Help us give young people somewhere fun & safe to go during half-term holidays with activities to develop their skill-sets & passions.

This project will provide a variety of after school activities for disadvantaged children and young people who experience social exclusion, the activity will improve their confidence, life skills and participation in youth services.

£87,000 over 3 years (£29,600; £28,700; £28,700) for the salary of a full-time Community Development Worker and associated project costs working with older people aged 75+ and support to carers 65+.

Digital technology can be a powerful tool in helping disadvantaged young people overcome challenges and gain employment. A grant to Covent Garden Dragon Hall Trust will enable young people to attend digital technology programmes offering skills, accreditation and most importantly mentors from the sector who will inspire/engage. The project will target those marginalized by a range of issues including poverty, disability and offending. The grant will contribute towards a Youth & Innovation Worker's salary and running costs and give young people at risk of being excluded (a life unemployed, homeless, offending) the skills and aspiration to succeed by democratising access to digital technology.
